There are few areas of the Mediterranean able to combine a heritage landscape archaeological and historical so varied and significant: The area north west of Sardinia is a rarity that, despite the application of a strict policy of monitoring and preservation, it gives generously to visitors.
The protected area starts to the southeast, with the lagoon of the Calich protected for the richness of its flora and fauna, and includes the charming bay of Porto Conte. The area is considered one of the most beautiful of the Mediterranean, with its caves, which each year attracts visitors from around the world (the Green Cave and the Cave of Neptune).
The territory offers also some cultural history thanks to the presence of important archaeological Roman such as the charming Villa Romana, protected inside the bay, a place of incredible charm where it is not difficult to see the dolphins that sometimes boldly go to the entrance of the port.
Returning on the coast and heading to the north, we reach Stintino and the beautiful beach Pelosa, perhaps one of the most beautiful of Sardinia. Close to the coastline, in the Asinara Gulf, we reach Castelsardo, built on a rocky outcrop overlooking the sea.
In this fortified village, which through hubs and alleys leads to the imposing castle, you can experience the beauty of craft production especially of the famous baskets ''dell'Anglona''.
