Cagliari
Cagliari's Sardinian name "Casteddu" literally means the castle. Cagliari has been inhabited since prehistoric times. It occupies an enviable position between the sea and a fertile plain, is surrounded by two swamps and it is close to high and green mountains.
Testimonies of its prehistoric origin and inhabitants were found in Sant’Elia, now the quarter where the prestigious Nuragic Museum designed by Zaha Hadid will be built.
