The Teatro Massimo Vittorio Emanuele in Palermo is the largest theater in Italy and one of the greatest opera houses of Europe (the third in size after the Opera National de Paris and Staatsoper in Vienna) and is famous worldwide for its perfect sound with for his horseshoe shape hall. The Real Teatro di San Carlo, most often cited as the Teatro San Carlo, is the most important theater in the city of Naples and one of the most famous in the world. It is the oldest opera house in Europe, between those that exist today, and one of the largest theaters in Italy. Recognized by UNESCO as World Heritage sites, can accommodate three thousand spectators and has five orders of boxes arranged horseshoe, plus a large royal box, a gallery and a stage about thirty-five meters long. The Arena di Verona is a Roman amphitheatre located in the historic centre of Verona, icon of the city along with figures of Romeo and Juliet. It is the third Roman amphitheatre in size in Italy, after one of Rome - the Colosseum - and the amphitheatre Capuano and is certainly among the best preserved. During the summer period is the stage for the famous opera festival with many famous singers performing Torre del Lago, home of the Puccini Festival, is located between Lake Massaciuccoli and the Tyrrhenian Sea, 18 km from Lucca and Pisa. Each year the Festival hosts 40,000 spectators in its Outdoor Theatre, a short walk from Villa Mausoleum where the Master Giacomo Puccini lived and worked.
